Thrive Church exists to make it easy for people to find and follow Jesus.

We want to create a church where people can kick the tires of faith, ask questions, find acceptance, discover their true purpose and calling that God wants for all humanity.

That’s an audacious mission, but it’s one that we are deeply passionate about!

Our dream is to create a church that people want to attend. We want people who are longing for a connection with the God of the universe to be able to explore what a journey of grace and faith looks like.

We Believe

THRIVE is a church that believes in making it easy for un-churched or de-churched people to find and follow GOD.

Since our beliefs are based on God’s word, we believe that they are not a fad or a trend. Our beliefs start and end on God’s word. We believe it is where truth begins and ends.

So here’s some of the details….

We believe God inspired the authors of Scripture by his Spirit to speak to all generations of believers, including us today. The original writings are without error. We believe the Scriptures speak with the authority of God while reflecting the backgrounds, styles, and vocabularies of the human authors. By God’s Spirit, we seek to interpret, contextualize, and live out this story even today.

Still want to read more?

We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit. God created humans in His image to live in loving fellowship with Him. But the enemy tempted the first humans and because we choose to sin and go our own way, we are alienated from God and suffer the corruption of our nature because of our sin. Because of this, death, disease, darkness, and evil have entered the world and all of creation is in desperate need of redemption.

This perfect and holy God did not abandon us to our own destruction but instead promised to provide a way to restoration and redemption. That He took on flesh in the person and work of Jesus Christ. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died a substitutionary death on the cross as payment for our sins. His suffering, death, burial, and resurrection bring hope for all humankind. Sin and death have been defeated and the promise of forgiveness and eternal communion with God are available through Jesus. No amount of good works or human effort can restore us from our state of eternal alienation from God. It is only by God’s free grace that we are saved from this state of alienation. This grace is appropriated by a change of heart toward God’s leadership in our lives, and by faith in Jesus to forgive our sins.

God’s Holy Spirit works in us to bring conviction of a person’s need for the forgiveness of sin through Christ. He regenerates their heart and then permanently indwells them, affirming as children of God all those who trust Jesus. The Holy Spirit empowers us with gifts, convicts, guides, comforts, counsels, and leads us into truth through a communal life of worship and a missional expression of our faith. This expression is called the church. The church is rooted and grounded in Christ, practicing spiritual disciplines and celebrating baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

The church is a global and local expression of living out the way of Jesus through love, peace, sacrifice, and healing as we embody the resurrected Christ, who lives in and through us to a broken and hurting world.

Thrive Michigan launched in 2013 with the help of Stadia, a global church planting organization. The idea from the start was to create a different type of church to help reach the 80,000+ people in Central Michigan who don't already have a church home.

Q: What makes THRIVE different?

A: We aren’t trying to be different – we’re just being ourselves. We strive for laughter, creativity, honest relationships and practical messages of hope. We believe that living outside the box is more fun than living in it.

Q: Do I have to give money when I show up?

A: Nope! Every service we give our regular attenders an opportunity to give in the offering, but it is not required. You’re welcome to come and check us out as long as you want before you think about giving.

Q: How long are the services?

A: Our services are 70 minutes long. We keep it short so you want to keep coming back. We want you to leave wanting more – not wishing it was less. Church should be the best hour of your week!

Q: What if I come from a different church background?

A: That’s great! We are glad you’re here. We welcome anyone from any religious background. Come as you are!

Q: What happens when I drop my kids off at ThriveKIDZ?

A: Imagine fun games, friendly & safe adults and occasionally a giant inflatable slide.  ThriveKIDZ is an exciting place where your kids can discover how to find and follow God in a fun, exciting environment.

Q: OK, so I’m thinking about visiting THRIVE. What should I expect?

A: We believe church should be something that you look forward to every Weekend. So here’s what you’ll experience at THRIVE: Great live music, Friendly people, Laughter, Exciting kids programs, Messages that make a difference in our lives and a casual atmosphere.
